Handikram was engaged for works being delivered for a specialist principal contractor, whose client was a large property development company. The works consisted of high voltage cable diversions on a large housing development site in East London. The site, a former post office distribution centre, had been demolished and stripped to ground level. Its borders connected to London Underground on one side of the site and Network rail on another.
The existing site contained a service providers high voltage cable within an area that required new piles to be installed. The project involved diverting the cables around the perimeter of the site, along the LUL and Network Rail adjoining properties.
Over 1000 linear metres of TTS green troughs were laid, some of which within challenging areas to access and changing levels requiring ladder racks. Due to the multiple rail infrastructure involved in the project a complex design and approval process had to take place.
There were many challenges during the project which increased the initial project duration from three to five months. Handikram staff applied their technical knowledge and experience along with a flexible and collaborative approach throughout the project to help their client achieve their goals.
